Ashok Gehlot: Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot is likely to meet Congress President Sonia Gandhi on Thursday. During this he will talk about the ongoing political crisis in the state. Gehlot was supposed to leave for Delhi from Jaipur on Wednesday evening, but his plans were postponed and he is likely to leave later.

He said that Congress Central Election Authority chief Madhusudan Mistry is not in Delhi on Thursday and hence the candidates for the post of president can apply only on September 30, the last day of nominations. Meanwhile, in the midst of political turmoil, Gehlot held talks with Speaker CP Joshi and Minister Shanti Dhariwal this afternoon.

Khachariyawas claims, Gehlot is not resigning

State Minister Pratap Singh Khachariawas, while sharing the information, claimed that Gehlot is not resigning. Party sources said that Digvijay Singh will reach Delhi on Wednesday night and he is also likely to meet Congress President Sonia Gandhi on Thursday. Former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Digvijay Singh may file nomination papers at a time when the possibility of Chief Minister Gehlot filing nomination papers has been put in question due to the political crisis in Rajasthan.

Tharoor to file nomination for the post of president on September 30

At the same time, Lok Sabha member Shashi Tharoor will file nomination for the post of Speaker on September 30. As per the announced schedule for the election of Congress President, the notification was issued on September 22 and the process of filing nomination papers began on September 24, which will continue till September 30. The last date for withdrawal of nomination papers is October 08. In case of more than one candidate, voting will be held on October 17 and results will be declared on October 19.
