UP News: Police have attached properties worth more than Rs 200 crore of Haji Iqbal, an alleged mining mafia of Uttar Pradesh’s Saharanpur district and former Legislative Council member from Bahujan Samaj Party. A huge amount of police force was deployed during this action against Haji Iqbal, a prize money of 50 thousand rupees. Saharanpur Senior Superintendent of Police Vipin Tada said that on Wednesday, the police force and the revenue department team attached the luxurious Kothi of the absconding Haji Iqbal in Mirzapur and movable and immovable properties worth Rs 203 crore at different places in Saharanpur district.
‘Report of properties was sent to the District Magistrate’
SSP Tada said that a few days ago, 148 properties of Haji Iqbal were identified and the District Magistrate had issued an order for confiscation against Haji Iqbal and his other accomplices, wanted under the section of the Gangster Act in Mirzapur. According to TADA, this action of confiscation was done only under this order. He said that on Tuesday, the police prepared a report against Haji Iqbal and his family and associates in which it was mentioned that about 148 properties were bought from illegal mining and these were in the name or benami of Haji Iqbal. TADA said that this report was sent to the District Magistrate.
‘Market value of properties around Rs 203 crore’
The SSP said that the market value of the 148 properties that have been seized is about Rs 203 crore. TADA said that the other properties of Haji Iqbal and his associates are also being investigated. According to him, confiscation action will be taken against the illegally acquired property in the coming time. The SSP said that Haji Iqbal is still absconding, while his brother and three sons have been arrested. According to the official, several police teams are working continuously to arrest Haji Iqbal.
Sons have been booked for raping a woman
Let us inform that earlier last month, a case of land grabbing was registered against MLC Haji Iqbal and his brother Mahmood Ali. Iqbal’s sons and lawyer were already booked for raping a woman and are in jail. According to the information given by the police, the police of Mirzapur police station in Saharanpur district of Uttar Pradesh had registered a case against BSP MLC Haji Iqbal and his brother former MLC Mahmood Ali on charges of encroaching land and threatening a woman. .

Police had said that in the same case, Iqbal’s three sons and a lawyer were accused of gang-raping the woman in return for returning the land. Police had arrested lawyer Zeeshan while Iqbal’s 3 sons Javed, Alishaan, Afzal and brother are already in jail. Saharanpur SSP Vipin Tada told that the woman has lodged this case in Mirzapur police station.
