IRCTC Scam: Bihar Deputy CM and veteran RJD leaders Tejashwi and Lalu Prasad Yadav have got a big relief in the IRCTC scam. The court has given more time to Tejashwi to file a reply on the CBI’s plea. On this petition, he had sought cancellation of his bail. Tejashwi Yadav has been directed to appear on 18 October 2022.

What is the IRCTC scam, the whole controversy

In the year 2017, the CBI had registered a case against 11 accused including Lalu Prasad Yadav Tejashwi Yadav. Subsequently, a special CBI court took cognizance of the charge sheet filed against Lalu Prasad Yadav and others in July 2018. Please tell that today the framing of charges could not start. After this, in February 2019, a petition was filed in the Delhi High Court challenging the decision of one of the accused Vinod Kumar.

It was alleged that the collusion between the owner of Sujata Hotel and Lalu Prasad Yadav came to the fore. It was told that 3 acres of land was given which was benami property, in this case also 11 people including Lalu Yadav, Rabri Devi and Tejashwi Yadav were made accused.

Can Tejashwi go to jail
According to law experts, if sufficient evidence and witnesses are produced in the court, then Tejashwi can be jailed. If Tejashwi is proved guilty in the IRCTC tender scam case in the court, then the sections imposed on him can lead to seven years’ imprisonment.
