India’s swashbuckling batsman and wicketkeeper Sanju Samson may not have been included in Team India for the ICC T20 World Cup-2022, but he was selected for India-A for the 3-match ODI series against New Zealand-A. The command of the A team was given. As soon as he became the captain, India defeated New Zealand badly under his captaincy in the first match of IND-A vs NZ-A ODI 2022. In the first match played in Chennai, IND-A defeated NZ-A by 7 wickets in 109 balls. Sanju Samson did a short, but good batting with excellent captaincy.

In this match, Team India’s fast bowler Shardul Thakur gave early shocks to New Zealand with his sharp bowling. Shardul Thakur and young fast bowler Kuldeep Sen broke New Zealand’s back. There was a time when New Zealand had lost 7 wickets for 71 runs. Out of these seven, 6 wickets were taken by Shardul and Kuldeep. After this, Michael Rippon and Joe Walker made a good and durable partnership of 89 runs for the 9th wicket for New Zealand and took the score forward. But, New Zealand’s team collapsed on the score of 167 runs in 40.2 overs.
