Uttar Pradesh News: In Ballia district of Uttar Pradesh, the district administration has banned the offering of Namaz in the Collectorate premises with immediate effect on the objection of some Hindu organizations. Municipal Magistrate Pradeep Kumar told on Friday that the employees and lawyers working in the collectorate used to offer prayers on government land near the advocate building in the collectorate premises at the district headquarters. He told that a complaint was made by Hinduist organizations about offering prayers in public on government land by tweeting a week ago.

The number of people who offer Namaz is about 300.

Magistrate Pradeep Kumar said that earlier the number of people offering Namaz used to be around 25, but for some time due to people of nearby locality also offering Namaz at the same place, this number had increased to around 300. Objections were also raised about the gathering of people other than collectorate personnel. In view of this, the district administration has banned the offering of namaz with immediate effect and now only after the written permission of the district administration, namaz will be offered at this place. It is noteworthy that in the year 2019, the Uttar Pradesh government had issued an order banning the offering of Namaz in public places.

At the same time, about 10 earlier, members of Vishwa Hindu Parishad handed over a group of people from West Bengal to the police on the charge of offering Namaz on the road in Shahjahanpur. The incident happened last Sunday evening, but the matter came to light when a video related to it went viral on social media two days later. This group of people from West Bengal was going to Ajmer Sharif. Additional superintendent of police (rural) Sanjeev Bajpai told PTI-language, “There was information about some people offering namaz on the road in Kapseda village of Tilhar police station area on the Lucknow-Delhi national highway. On this, the police reached the spot and brought 18 people from there to the police station and later all of them wrote an apology, after which they were released on personal bond.
