The whole country will celebrate (the victory) for years to come.” The Master Blaster said, “My cricketing dream started with the Indian team winning the World Cup in 1983. You have also given birth to many new dreams. This is a wonderful achievement.
“It was a great feeling talking to the legend Sachin Tendulkar. Our dreams have come true. Winning the trophy in the first Under-19 Women’s World Cup is a very big thing for us. The former legend, who scored 100 centuries in international cricket, said, “The launch of the WPL (Women’s Premier League) is going to be the biggest thing. I believe in equality for men and women. Not only in sports but everywhere both should have equal opportunities.
Tendulkar said the BCCI is trying its best for the development of women’s cricket in the country. “The BCCI and its officials have contributed a lot in enriching women’s cricket. I think it is a sign that we will do really well (in future).”
