Mumbai. WPL 2023 (Women’s Premier League 2023) has started from Saturday. Whereas, in the very first match played at DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai, Mumbai Indians defeated Gujarat Giants and set a new record. Yes, Mumbai bowled out Gujarat for just 64 runs and won the match by 143 runs.

Batting first in this match, the Mumbai batsmen batted brilliantly and scored more than 200 runs. Captain Harmanpreet Kaur made 65 in just 30 balls while batting with a bang and was the highest run scorer. He hit a total of 14 fours in his innings. Apart from him, Amelia Kerr also batted brilliantly and scored an unbeaten 45 off 24 balls. With the help of these two innings, Mumbai Indians scored 207 runs at the loss of five wickets in 20 overs.

At the same time, Gujarat’s innings which came to chase this huge score was very bad. The wickets of the team kept falling like cards. Apart from Dayalan Hemlata and Monika Patel (10 runs), no batsman even touched the figure of 10. Whereas, four batsmen could not even open their account.

Saika Ishaq took maximum 4 wickets from Mumbai side. While, Nat Sciver-Brunt, Amelia Kerr took 2-2 wickets. Whereas, Issy Wong took one wicket.
