The first match of the 4-match Test series (India vs Australia Test Series, 2023) between India and Australia will be played in Nagpur from 9 February to 13 February. To keep the hope of reaching the final of the ICC World Test Championship, 2021-23, Team India will have to win a big win against Australia in this series at any cost. Team India does not have a match winner player like Rishabh Pant in this series due to a serious injury in a road accident. From this point of view, a balanced and strong playing XI is required.
Wasim Jaffer, the former Team India batsman and currently playing the role of cricket pundit, has made and released his playing XI of his choice for the Nagpur Test. Surprisingly, Wasim Jaffer has not given place to Suryakumar Yadav and Ishaan Kishan in his playing XI. Akshar Patel’s name is also missing. Kuldeep Yadav has been included in place of Akshar Patel.

According to Wasim Jaffer, Indian captain Rohit Sharma Captain Team India and KL Rahul will open the Indian innings in the Nagpur Test match. Shubman can take Gill in the middle order. Cheteshwar Pujara has been placed at number three and Virat Kohli at number four.
Indian batting will hinge on the players of both Virat Kohli and Cheteshwar Pujara in the Nagpur Test. Because, both the batsmen are in their excellent form at the moment. The responsibility of wicketkeeping has been given to KS Bharat Wicket-keeper.
