BCCI Review Meeting: The defeat of the Indian team in the T20 World Cup 2022 raised many questions. Now at the beginning of the new year, the BCCI held a review meeting. In which the team’s performance and further plans were discussed. BCCI is now eyeing 50-50 World Cup. The meeting was held on Sunday and was attended by BCCI secretary Jay Shah, president Roger Binny, captain Rohit Sharma, coach Rahul Dravid, NCA chief VVS Laxman and previous selection committee chief Chetan Sharma. The BCCI has decided that 20 players will be selected for the ODI World Cup. Players will be selected. Which will be prepared according to rotation.
What is the plan of BCCI
The board has shortlisted 20 players for the World Cup. Their fitness and preparation will be taken care of. At the same time, a chance will be given in rotation, so that the form remains intact till the World Cup to be held in October-November. BCCI has learned lessons from past mistakes.
Must play domestic cricket for selection
It was also decided in the meeting that the cricketers would have to play domestic cricket for selection in the national team. The ODI World Cup is to be held in India this year. Keeping this in mind, the NCA will monitor the Indian players during the IPL.
No threat to Rohit’s captaincy
According to BCCI sources, the board officials have not found Rohit Sharma’s leadership unsatisfactory. Due to which there is no threat to his ODI and Test captaincy at the moment.
