Brisbane: A two-match T20 International (AUS vs WI T20 Series) series is to be played against Australia and West Indies. For which Australia has announced the team. Star batsman David Warner and all-rounder Mitchell Marsh have also returned for this series. The two T20 Internationals between Australia and West Indies will be played at the Gold Coast on October 5 and 7. Through this series, both the teams will prepare for the T20 World Cup. Apart from Warner and Marsh, Marcus Stoinis and Mitchell Starc have also returned to the team.
It may be noted that four players – Warner (preparation management), Mitchell Marsh (heel), Stoinis (side) and Starc (knee) – did not play the T20I series against India. George Bailey, chairman of the national selectors panel, said, “The T20 World Cup is near and we are taking care of our players. The return of four players will help us plug the minor gaps. In the World Cup, we want to handle the field with full preparation. Against England we will look forward to the return of Kane Richardson and Ashton Agar.
It is to be known that after playing this series against the West Indies, the Australian team will play a series of three T20 International matches against England. After that the team will again gather in Brisbane for the T20 World Cup. After which on October 17, the Australian team will play a practice match of the T20 World Cup at the Gabba.
