Jayshankar on UN: The eyes of the western countries are fixed on India regarding the war between Russia and Ukraine. During the Shanghai Summit held in Samarkand, PM Modi had given a clear signal to Russian President Vladimir Putin that war is not justified under any circumstances. This does no one any good. PM Modi had told Putin to find a way out peacefully instead of war. After this attitude of India, the whole group of western countries including America is looking towards India. Now the real test is about to take place in the United Nation. The United States has put forward a strong resolution in the United Nations Security Council regarding Russia’s referendum in Ukraine. It may be discussed and voting should be done at the beginning of next week itself. Till now India has avoided voting on the issue of Russia. Now it has to be seen what will be the next step of India.

Indian Foreign Minister said – wait now

When External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar was asked in Washington on the issue of Russia and Ukraine, he said that you should wait what our ambassador to the UN will say. At the same time, Russian President Putin announced mobilization only after the SEO meeting. After this, referendums were held in four major areas of Ukraine from 23 to 27 September. The referendum was heavily criticized in the West.

Now America is bringing the fourth resolution in the Security Council of the United Nations. However, experts believe that due to Russia’s veto, this proposal may not go ahead. But the US can introduce a resolution in the UN General Assembly. The resolution states that Russia has attacked Ukraine’s sovereignty, integrity and political independence by holding a referendum. In fact, Russia held referendums in Ukraine’s Luhansk, Donetsk, Kherson and Zaporozhye.

Foreign Minister said this regarding relations with China

Regarding relations with China, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar has clearly said that it depends on the sensitivity, respect and interests of both sides. The Foreign Minister has arrived in Washington after attending the UN meeting in New York. During a press conference here, when he was asked about relations with China, he said, “Whatever I have said, our policy is clear.” We are engaged in improving relations with China but it is not possible alone.
