Every year, as soon as Diwali comes, arguments about banning firecrackers and pollution start coming to the fore. Some people around you must be giving their opinion in support and opposition of firecrackers and fireworks. But a lawyer has cited religious texts for lighting firecrackers on Diwali. He said that the reason behind doing this has been written in Hindu scriptures. Not only this, he also explained the fireworks with the entire timeline before and after Diwali.
There is logic hidden in Diwali’s timeline
Actually, a video of Sai Deepak, a lawyer by profession, has surfaced. In this video, he is seen saying, “Why do we burst firecrackers on Diwali? Are they only for celebration, or are crackers used only to make money?” Sai Deepak Naam explained the reasoning regarding this. The lawyer said that it is argued that bursting of crackers, bursting of fireworks on Diwali is not a Hindu custom but is done only for celebration. The lawyer rejected this argument.
Shraddha and connection with your ancestors
Sai Deepak said that just before Diwali comes Shradh, or what we also call Mahalaya Paksha. After this Diwali comes and then after Deepalvali comes the month of Kartik. He further explained that during Shradh we worship our departed and ancestors and feed them. It is believed that our ancestors come to us during Shradh, but those ancestors do not know the way to go. The lawyer said that this is precisely the reason why during Diwali we fill the sky with light by lighting fireworks so that our ancestors who came in Shradh can go to heaven after seeing the bright sky.
The logic of Vedas-religious texts also given
The lawyer said that it is written in many Vedas and religious texts of Hindus that it is necessary to do this. He said that we have to put all these written facts in front of those people who consider the argument of fireworks on Diwali as unnecessary. Sai Deepak further said that when we light sparklers, there is a word in Sanskrit about that light also. This process is called ‘Ulk Danam’ in Sanskrit. He said that in support of this argument, the scripture ‘Karthik Mahatmya’ has been written. The lawyer said that the British have also written about this, many Indians have also written, but we did not know the logic behind it.
“Breaking of firecrackers is part of Hindu culture”
Sai Deepak expressed anger over this and said that your ignorance about this issue and your culture will be used against you. He said that this would be done to humiliate you, to make you feel embarrassed, to be called orthodox and superstitious. He said that bursting of crackers on Diwali is part of Hindu culture.
