Sen. Sherwin Gatchalian provided the much-needed assistance to Bulacan residents who were affected by Super Typhoon “Karding.”
A former mayor of neighboring Valenzuela City, Gatchalian came to the rescue of thousands of families whose homes were either submerged in flood waters or damaged by the recent typhoon.
Gatchalian visited the municipality of San Miguel in Bulacan on Saturday to distribute sacks of rice to about a thousand affected families.
The Sangguniang Bayan of San Miguel passed a resolution placing the entire municipality under a state of calamity due to the damaging effects of the flood on agriculture, livelihood and infrastructure.
Gatchalian also visited the remains of the rescuers who perished in the line of duty and will give financial assistance to the families of the five heroes.
