Ranchi: T20 World Cup 2022 is going to be played in Australia from this month. The Indian team has reached Australia for this big tournament. At the same time, a player has expressed his pain due to being selected in the World Cup team. We are talking about Shardul Thakur, popularly known as ‘Lord’ in the Indian team. It is a ‘huge disappointment’ to see Shardul Thakur not being picked for the T20 World Cup.
Shardul Thakur expressed his pain before playing the second ODI against South Africa. “Obviously, it’s a big disappointment,” he said. It is every player’s dream to play in the World Cup and do well.
He said, ‘It doesn’t matter even if I am not selected. I still have a lot of cricket left in me and there is an ODI World Cup next year too. In whatever match I get a chance, my focus will be on doing well and contributing to the team’s victory.

Shardul Thakur has further given his opinion on Deepak Chahar’s injury. He said, ‘Injuries are part of the game. At some point or the other, the player will definitely get injured. We should not take it to heart. There is still a lot of cricket left. If someone gets hurt, any player can come in his place. Your responsibility is just that whenever you get a chance, you should fulfill your responsibility. If I get a chance, I am mentally prepared.
Shardul Thakur said, ‘If you look at the teams that have performed well at the international level, there is a lot of depth in their batting order. For example, Australia has Pat Cummins, Mitch Starc batting at the eighth or ninth order. Same is the case with England.
He said, ‘I have been focusing on my batting for a long time. Obviously it’s good to contribute with the batting from seventh to ninth order. This boosts your confidence.
