Dubai: 16 umpires including India’s Nitin Menon will officiate in the ICC T20 World Cup to be held in Australia. Menon is the only Indian in the elite panel of ICC umpires and has reached Australia. The ICC announced the officials for the first round and the Super 12 stage of the tournament.
“A total of 16 umpires will officiate in the tournament,” the ICC said in a statement. Richard Kettleborough, Nitin Menon, Kumar Dharmasena and Marais Erasmus officiated in the 2021 final when Australia won the first T20 World Cup. Ranjan Madugalle, the chief referee of the ICC Panel of Match Referees, is also one of four former international cricketers to be match referees. These include Madugalle along with Andrew Pycroft of Zimbabwe, Christopher Broad of England and David Boon of Australia.
