T20 WC 2022: New Zealand and England have confirmed their place in the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup being played in Australia. The position of Group A has been cleared. The biggest thing was that the host Australia itself was out of this group. Today is an important day for Group B. Here which two teams will make the place in the semi-finals and who will face New Zealand or who will be England, it will be decided. Team India will secure a place in the semi-finals by defeating Zimbabwe today. On the other hand, South Africa will also reach the semi-finals with a win against the Netherlands. Pakistan has to play Bangladesh today. Both these teams are eyeing the matches of India and South Africa. If India and South Africa lose their respective matches, the situation will get interesting.
How can India qualify for semi-finals?
Team India needs to win the match against Zimbabwe today. There is a chance of rain in Melbourne on Sunday. If it rains and the match is washed out, it will be good for India. Rohit Sharma’s team will still qualify for the semi-finals. The reason for this is that Pakistan will have 6 points if they beat Bangladesh today. India already have 6 points and 1 point from a washed out match will advance them to the semi-finals. But this happens only when the match is completely washed out. If it rains in the middle of the match, the DLS method will be applied.
How can Pakistan qualify for semi-finals?
If South Africa vs Netherlands is washed out due to rain and Pakistan win their match against Bangladesh, Babar Azam’s team will qualify for the semi-finals, leaving South Africa behind.
