The Social Security System (SSS) on Friday advised the public on the delay in the crediting of benefits and pensions in the accounts of some of its members amid the ongoing restoration of the connectivity between its servers and disbursement banks.
In an advisory, the SSS said benefit proceeds and pensions processed from August 25, 2022, onwards will be delayed following a fire that broke out in its building in Quezon City on August 28, 2022.
“The SSS is asking for patience and understanding for this current situation while all concerted and immediate efforts are being made to restore the crediting back to normal operations,” the agency said.
Meanwhile, the SSS said the Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP) — which serves as the disbursement facility that credits the monthly pensions to the pensioners’ accounts — had already processed the crediting of the first batch of pensions for September 2022.
SSS added it is expecting DBP to credit the second batch of pensions starting at 4 pm on September 16 after the bank previously encountered a technical error while processing it.
“Online filing through the My.SSS portal is now in full operation effective September 1, 2022. Members can already submit their benefit claims applications using the said portal,” the agency said.
