Today, in the third and final match of the 3-match ODI series (NZ vs IND ODI Series, 2022 India on New Zealand Tour) between India and New Zealand, New Zealand invited India to bat first after winning the toss. This match is being played in Christchurch. In this match, wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant, once again going through bad form, was given a thumbs up and in-form wicketkeeper-batsman Sanju Samson (Sanju Samson Wicket-keeper Batter) was ignored. The result did not take long to come. Rishabh Pant got away cheaply even today.
Significantly, in today’s match, he fell victim to the ball of bowler Darryl Mitchell for 10 runs. Team India had many overs left to play when Rishabh came to bat. They could have looked at playing tick, but they themselves dodged in the attempt to do bridge. In such a situation, despite continuous flops, Rishabh got a chance and the matter of Sanju Samson’s neglect has caught on.
One more failure for Pant, who clearly needs a break from white-ball cricket. One more opportunity denied to @IamSanjuSamson who now has to wait for the @IPL to show that he’s one of the best two-order bats in India. #IndvsNZ https://t.co/RpJKkDdp5n

Senior Congress leader Shashi Tharoor has questioned the neglect of Sanju Samson. He took to Twitter to attack the team management and said that VVS Laxman says that Pant has done well at number 4, so he should be supported. Attacking Tharoor, he said, “Pant is a good out-of-field player, who has flopped in 10 out of 11 innings. While Samson’s ODI average is 66. He has scored well in the last 5 matches. But, they are sitting on the bench. Look at the numbers.”

Significantly, in this latest tour of New Zealand, VVS Laxman is the head coach. Remind you that earlier Sanju Samson was ignored under the captaincy of Team India’s Hardik Pandya. And now, the same is clearly visible in the ODI series under the captaincy of Shikhar Dhawan (Shikhar Dhawan Captain Team India IND vs NZ 2022).
