The film was announced on Tuesday to mark the 349th anniversary of the coronation of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj as the king of Maratha Swaraj.
The first look of the film was also released on this occasion.
The film, directed by Ravi Jadhav, will capture the teenage life of the courageous Maratha warrior king. In this, there will be details of events happening in his life from the age of 12 to the age of 16.
Talking about the film, Ravi Jadhav said: My film will showcase the invaluable contribution made by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s parents, Jijamata and Shahaji Raje Bhosale in building a strong foundation for him as a child. How from a young age his skills as a warrior and a ruler were honed. I worked on the script for nine years and am now ready to fulfill my vision on screen.
As a director, I am making a historical film for the first time. Sandeep Singh understands the importance of telling stories of bravery. Akash Thosar is our first choice to play the lead role in the film. He has the personality to play the role of a royal and young king. I am impressed by his enthusiasm and eagerness to play the role.
The film will release by the end of this year and will be shot extensively across Maharashtra.
