Rohit Sharma: The Former Mumbai Indians Captain Achieves a Major Milestone
Despite scoring only 8 runs against Gujarat Titans, former Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma reached a significant milestone before heading back to the pavilion.
Rohit Sharma’s Record-Breaking Feat
The 9th match of IPL 2025 between Gujarat Titans and Mumbai Indians witnessed a historic achievement. Although Rohit Sharma managed to score only 8 runs before getting out, he etched his name in the record books by completing 600 fours in the IPL. The ‘Hitman’ became only the fourth player to reach this landmark.
600 Fours in IPL
During the match against Gujarat Titans, Rohit Sharma played just three balls and hit two fours before being dismissed. However, in the process, he reached the 600-fours milestone in IPL history. This achievement makes him the fourth overall and the third Indian player to do so. Before him, only three players had achieved this feat, including two foreign cricketers.
Who Else Is on the List?
The record for hitting the most fours in IPL history belongs to former Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan. Dhawan has played 222 IPL matches and smashed 768 fours. Following him, Virat Kohli holds the second position with 711 fours in 254 matches. The third spot is occupied by Australian cricketer David Warner, who has hit 663 fours in 184 IPL matches.
Rohit Sharma’s latest milestone cements his status as one of the greatest IPL batsmen. With IPL 2025 still in its early stages, fans can expect more records to be shattered in the coming matches.
