The accused has been sentenced to rigorous imprisonment for raping a minor in Bettiah. On Monday evening, Special Judge for POSCO Act Javed Alam found the named accused Banarasi Sah (40) guilty of the case and sentenced him to 20 years. Along with this, a fine of Rs 20,000 has also been ordered. In case of non-payment of fine amount, the judge has ordered additional imprisonment of one month.
A fine of Rs 20,000 was also imposed on the accused.
The convicted accused is Banarasi Sah, a resident of Bhabhata village under Sathi police station area of the district. Jaishankar Tiwari, Special Exclusive Public Prosecutor of the Posco Act, informed that the incident is of the year 2019. It is alleged that the accused Banarasi Sah raped the minor girl by coaxing her. And threatened to kill the victim on telling anyone. Due to which the victim minor girl was very scared. Taking advantage of which the accused Banarasi Sah raped many times.
During this, the minor girl became pregnant after which she informed about the incident to her family members. After which the father of the minor girl lodged an FIR against the accused in Sathi police station. The judge has given this verdict after hearing both the sides. Tell that the accused Banarasi Sah seems to be the grandfather of the victim’s minor girl.
Order to give compensation of five lakh rupees to the victim
The judge has also ordered compensation of five lakh rupees to the minor victim under the Bihar Retribution Scheme. Exclusive Special Public Prosecutor Jaishankar Tiwari has told.
