Melbourne: Star tennis player Novak Djokovic is set to get a visa for next year’s Australian Open, despite being deported in January. The Australian Broadcasting Corporation said on Tuesday it had confirmed newspaper reports that the immigration minister had overturned Djokovic’s decision to face a possible three-year ban.
The Australian Border Force had earlier said that the ban period could be waived under certain circumstances. The office of Immigration Minister Andrew Giles declined to comment on privacy grounds.
