The film depicts the situation in the country in 19 months from 1975 to 1977. Directed by Madhur Bhandarkar, ‘Indu Sarkar’ stars Kirti Kulhari, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Anupam Kher in pivotal roles. This film, which came in 2017, was in a lot of controversy but could not show anything special at the box office.
2. Baadshaho
Ajay Devgn, Ileana D’Cruz, Emraan Hashmi, Vidyut Jammwal, Esha Gupta and Sanjay Mishra starrer film Baadshaho was released in the year 2017. The story of the film is set during the Emergency in 1975, where the government comes to know that Maharani Gitanjali has a treasure. The government’s eye is on this treasure, but Queen Gitanjali wants to stop this treasure from reaching Delhi by doing anything. But the film failed to perform well at the box office.
3. Thousand Wishes Like This
KK Menon, Chitrangada Singh and Shiney Ahuja starrer, the film was directed by Sudhir Mishra. The background of Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi is also the Emergency in the country. The film is based on the story of three youths whose lives are surrounded by political and social changes.

In 1978 IS Johar made a comedy film ‘Nasbandi’. Everyone including Amitabh Bachchan, Manoj Kumar were doing duplicate work in the film. The film was banned as soon as it was released. Because the film was based on the sterilization campaign run by Indira Gandhi’s son Sanjay Gandhi during the Emergency. The government did not approve that anyone should make fun of their sterilization campaign. That’s why the film was banned forever.

The film will hit the theaters on 24 November 2023. Along with releasing the teaser, the actress wrote in the caption, “A protector or a dictator?
