Wrote the script of many important stages of politics
Sharad Yadav was the pivot of Bihar politics for almost three decades. Bihar remained the center of his politics from 1990 till his last breath. From making Lalu Yadav the CM to doing politics against him for 18 years and merging his party with RJD in March 2022, Bihar was somewhere in his every political initiative.
When Lalu Yadav had a successful kidney transplant, he had expressed a happy reaction on social media. He also addressed the national convention of RJD held in Delhi. Overall, it was Sharad Yadav who scripted many important milestones in the politics of Bihar in the last three decades. Whether it is to make Lalu the CM, to support Nitish Kumar against him, to use the grand alliance in the state or to return to the RJD. Autumn should be in everyone’s center.
He used to say about those who used to see political understanding in those who met him… This is a political man. The intention was to understand the society, with this formula, he created a generation of socialist thinking leaders in the Hindi heartland. Especially in Bihar.
He was very close to Nitish Kumar. But, when Nitish Kumar left the Grand Alliance in 2017, such a sourness arose between Sharad-Nitish that he was expelled from JDU. Sharad tried to unite the opposition in 2019. Then he again came close to Lalu Prasad.
He started a joint heritage tour with opposition leaders across the country. His closeness with Rahul Gandhi also increased. Sharad Yadav started keeping ill after losing the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. He used to speak bluntly.
Because of this many times he also came in controversies. He was a strong voice for the interests of the backward and was the leading face of the Mandal movement.
