Ignored by the safety of patients in Jamui Sadar Hospital: All the fire extinguishers of the hospital expired, did not change even after DM’s order

The fire extinguishers installed at various places in Jamui Sadar Hospital premises have remained just for show. All the fire extinguishers have already expired two months ago. In such a situation, the system to control the possibility of untoward incident has spread completely. The great thing is that even from the past incidents, the hospital administration has not learned. Every day about 500 patients come for treatment in the 100-bed Sadar Hospital. Dozens of patients are admitted in maternity ward and other general wards as well. 12 newborns are kept in the warmer of SNCU. In such a situation, if there is a fire in Sadar Hospital, then many people will lose their lives or get scorched.

4 fire extinguishers in SNCU expire

15 days ago on December 28, 11 warmers were burnt due to short circuit in SNCU. During this there was chaos. All the newborn babies kept in the warmer of SNCU were taken out and kept in a private hospital. The health department has not learned from this incident as well. 4 fire extinguishers installed in SNCU have already expired two months ago.

To control fire at major places of Sadar Hospital premises, fire fighting equipment has been installed at 12 places. Bhaskar inquired about the maintenance of fire extinguishers after checking in the hospital. The fire extinguisher hanging in the wall near Sadar Hospital’s main gate, emergency room, doctor’s room, labor room, OT room, women’s OPD room, general ward, male OPD has expired on November 18, 2022 itself. The serious thing is that the fire extinguisher installed in the maternity ward has also expired.

Fire extinguisher will be replaced in a week

It was taken seriously after the Bhaskar team informed about the expiry of all the fire extinguishers installed in Sadar Hospital. All expired fire extinguishers will be replaced within a week.
