The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has reacted to the statement of BCCI Secretary and ACC Chief Jay Shah.
It is worth noting that on Tuesday, Asian Cricket Council (ACC) President Jay Shah had said that the upcoming Asia Cup should be held in a neutral venue. After this statement, PCB has issued a statement on its behalf. The PCB has said that “The PCB is disappointed with the statement by ACC President Jay Shah to shift the Asia Cup-2023 next year to a neutral venue instead of Pakistan. And also surprised. The statement made by the secretary of BCCI was made without any discussion with ACC or PCB.

The PCB further said in its statement, “Such a statement will create a distinction between the Asian and international cricket community. And, the ICC ODI World Cup, the departure of the Pakistan team to India for 2023 and the upcoming ICC events in India in the 2024–2031 circle may also affect.

Pakistan Cricket Board says that, till now the board has not received any official reply from ACC on the statement of ACC Chief Jay Shah. In view of this, the PCB has requested the ACC to convene an emergency meeting to discuss this important and sensitive issue.
Significantly, after the AGM of BCCI on October 18, a news headlines that ACC Chief Jay Shah has said that, “We have decided that we will play at neutral venue.” Remind you that even before this Asia Cup has been organized at neutral venue. The hosts of the Asia Cup-2022, Sri Lanka, expressed their inability to host the tournament on Sri Lankan soil in view of their country’s turbulent political situation. After that the tournament of that season was held in UAE, in which Sri Lanka became the champion.
