IRCTC hit back at Congress on train accident:
The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has rejected a claim by Congress leader Jairam Ramesh regarding the train accident in Odisha’s Balasore, in which he said that thousands of tickets were canceled after the accident. IRCTC said that the number of ticket cancellations did not increase. Congress statement is misleading.
Congress leader Jairam Ramesh made a tweet after the Balasore train accident in which he said that the number of ticket cancellations increased after the accident. Apart from this, Congress had also shared a video in its press conference. But IRCTC has denied this claim. IRCTC said that no such cancellation has increased. In contrast, cancellations had come down from 7.7 lakh on June 01 to 7.5 lakh on June 03.

IRCTC refutes Jairam Ramesh’s statement saying that there is no threat or challenge from Adani’s trainman. A post from the official Twitter handle of IRCTC read, “This is a misleading statement.”

Trainman is one of the 32 authorized business-to-customer partners of IRCTC. Adani Digital Labs has entered into an agreement with IRCTC for 100 per cent stake in online train ticket booking platform Trainman. This was Adani’s first entry in the railway sector. Trainman was established in 2011 to book train tickets, check live running status and PNR status. Now the Congress has targeted this trainman of Adani, on which IRCTC has retaliated.
