ChittagongHalf-centuries from Test specialists Cheteshwar Pujaar and Shreyas Iyer and a 149-run fifth-wicket partnership between the two helped India post 278 for six on the opening day of the first Test against Bangladesh.
Pujara scored 90 runs in a restrained 203-ball innings while Iyer is at the crease after scoring 82 runs in 169 balls. Akshar Patel (14) was trapped leg before on the last ball of the day. Taijul Islam took three wickets while Mehdi Hasan took two wickets for Bangladesh.

The Indian team was in trouble in the opening session of the day, losing three wickets for 48 runs, but after this, Rishabh Pant (46 runs in 45 balls) made a comeback for the team by sharing a 64-run partnership with Pujara for the fourth wicket with aggressive batting. .
