Nagpur. Captain Rohit Sharma’s unbeaten 46 off 20 balls helped India beat Australia by six wickets in the rain-hit second T20I on Friday to reach 1 in the three-match series. Equals by 1. The match was reduced to eight overs per team due to the wet outfield. Australia scored 90 for five with the help of Matthew Wade’s 43 off 20 balls. In reply, India scored 92 for the loss of four wickets and registered a victory with four balls to spare. Dinesh Karthik ensured victory by hitting sixes and fours in the first two balls of the last over.
Rohit added 43 not out in 20 balls with the help of four fours and four sixes. From the other end, however, KL Rahul (10), Virat Kohli (11) and Suryakumar Yadav (0) were cheaply sent to the pavilion by Adam Zampa. While Kohli and Rahul were bowled, Suryakumar was out leg before. Hardik Pandya also scored nine runs and was caught by Aaron Finch off Pat Cummins.

‘Finisher’ Dinesh Karthik hit Daniel Sams for a four and a six in the first two balls of the last over to give India victory. Earlier for Australia, Wade hit four fours and three sixes in his innings which were hit in the last over by Harshal Patel. Captain Aaron Finch added 31 runs in 15 balls.
For India, Axar Patel took two wickets for 13 runs in two overs as Australia’s score was 31 for three at one point. Wade and Steve Smith (eight) then added 44 runs in three overs. Earlier, Finch took ten runs off Hardik Pandya, who was bowling the first over, hitting two fours. After this, the ball was handed to Axar and Cameron Green played a high shot at long on but Virat Kohli could not take the catch.

On the next ball, however, Green was run out on an accurate throw from Kohli. Akshar then dismissed Glenn Maxwell cheaply. After two overs of the powerplay, Yuzvendra Chahal bowled an over but gave away 12 runs in it.
