ICC T20 World Cup 2022: Team India has shown its preparation in the warm-up match of the T20 World Cup. In the match played in Brisbane, Rohit Sharma’s team defeated Kangaroos by 6 runs. Batting first, India scored 186 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs thanks to the brilliant batting of KL Rahul and Surya Kumar. In reply, Australia were all out for 180 in the last ball of the 20th over. Mohammed Shami took 3 wickets. Team India’s second practice match is against New Zealand on 19 October. Team India will face Pakistan in the T20 World Cup on 23 October.
Ind vs Aus: Warm-up match in Brisbane
Earlier, Australia won the toss and elected to bowl first. Team India got off to a great start. The opening pair of KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma added 78 runs for the first wicket. The first batsman to be dismissed was Rahul, who scored 57 runs in 33 balls with the help of 3 sixes and 7 fours. Rohit Sharma scored 15, Virat Kohli scored 19, Suryakumar Yadav scored 50, Hardik Pandya scored 2, Dinesh Karthik scored 20 runs. Akshar Patel and Ravichandran Ashwin remained unbeaten on 6-6 runs.
Chasing the target of 187 runs, the Kangaroo team started well, but after regular wickets kept falling. Mitchell Marsh and Aaron Finch added 64 runs for the first wicket. Finch scored the highest 76 runs. Shami took 3 wickets for Team India, apart from this Bhuvneshwar Kumar took 2 and Arshdeep Singh, Harshal Patel and Chahal took one wicket each. Team India has included Mohammad Shami in the team instead of Jaspreet Singh. Shami has justified his selection decision.
