Ambati Rayudu was born on 23 September 1985 in Guntur, Andhra Pradesh. Rayudu completed his schooling from Sri Ramakrishna Vidyalaya, Sainikpuri, Secunderabad. Rayudu has played very few matches for the Indian team. But, he was embroiled in many controversies due to his anger.

In the year 2019, Rayudu came into the headlines for his tweet. Actually, all-rounder Vijay Shankar was included in the team in place of Rayudu for the 2019 ICC ODI World Cup. Chief selector MSK Prasad called Shankar a 3D player and justified the selection. After this, Rayudu tweeted and wrote that, ‘I have ordered 3D glasses so that I will watch the World Cup.’
Rayudu had directly taunted the chief selector through this tweet. After that the controversy started. Talking about IPL, in the year 2012, Rayudu lost his cool in the match between Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore. In this match, Rayudu clashed with former Indian fast bowler Zaheer Khan. AB de Villiers and Dhawal Kulkarni intervened between the two.
After this, while playing for Mumbai Indians in IPL 2016, Rayudu clashed with his own team player Harbhajan Singh. Rayudu could not stop the boundary on a ball from Bhajji while fielding in the match against Rising Pune.
