External Affairs Minister Dr.S Jaishankar visited Lakshmi Vilas Palace in Vadodara along with representatives from 60 different countries. During this, he said that today it is a matter of pride that we have come here with more than 50 ambassadors from abroad. Today he will spend time in Vadodara. Tomorrow he will go to Kevadiya. In the evening, he will also go to a cultural program. They have a lot of enthusiasm, they want to see the progress of Gujarat. I hope a good image will be formed in his mind about Gujarat.

During this, External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar said that the fight (between Russia and Ukraine) started on 24 February. At that time, about 20 thousand of our students were trapped there. During the conflict, PM Modi asked both Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky for a short-term ceasefire so that we can evacuate our students safely.

He said petrol prices doubled because of the Russia-Ukraine conflict. We were under pressure to buy oil, but PM Modi and the government were of the view that we have to do what is best for our country and if pressure comes, we should face it.

In Vadodara, the External Affairs Minister said terrorist incidents in Northeast India have come down in recent years, as we signed a land boundary agreement with Bangladesh in 2015. This prevented the extremists from taking refuge in Bangladesh, closing their operations in Northeast India.

During this, Jaishankar also took a jibe at Pakistan. He said that we are a neighbour, just like we are experts in IT (Information Technology) and they are experts in international terrorists. This has been going on for years, but we can convince the world that terrorism is terrorism. Today it is going against us, tomorrow it will be against you. Now the world’s understanding of terrorism has increased as compared to earlier times. The world is not going to tolerate this. Countries that use terrorism are under pressure.

The Foreign Minister said that every country was stopping for itself the raw material of the vaccine. The problem for us was that if the supply chain of the world did not work for us, then how would we make a vaccine. In such a situation, the PM explained to the US President that you do not stop the vaccine supply chain of the world. At the behest of the Prime Minister, the US administration exempted India from the Defense Production Act and because of that our vaccine program ran smoothly. The biggest impact of the Delta variant was in our country. At that time medicines, ventilators etc. came from all over the world. There was a shortage of oxygen at that time, so we had brought oxygen from outside. At that time the PM had a vision that he said that we should help the world at the time of vaccine.
