Gorakhpur, 18 September: In Gorakhpur, encounters are taking place between the police and animal smugglers every day. Gorakhpur Police is strictly dealing with animal smugglers. An encounter broke out between the Chiluatal police and three cattle smugglers on Sunday morning. One of the accused is in the custody of the police. Who is undergoing treatment in the district hospital. This accused had opened fire on the Gulriha police a few days ago.
SP North Manoj Awasthi said that Inspector-in-Charge Chiluatal Sudhir Singh got information that bike-borne animal smugglers were doing recce near Rampur Chak. Along with SWAT in-charge of Crime Branch Manish Yadav surrounded in Mohripur. Seeing the policemen, the bike-borne animal smuggler opened fire with a pistol and ran back towards Rampur Chak village. When the team laid siege, they took the bike and fell into the pit. After which two miscreants fled while one miscreant started firing on the police. In retaliation by the police, the miscreant got shot in the right leg.
During interrogation, he was identified as Zulfikar, a resident of Semra Hardo village under Kubersthan police station area of Kushinagar district. According to the police, he is a history sheeter of Kubersthan police station. He has 14 cases registered against him. He is a cow smuggler and was involved in the incident of murderous attack on the police in Gulriha 20 days ago. The district police is collecting details of the smugglers caught in the last five years. Along with taking gangster action against the accused, the history sheet will be opened at the police station in the area where the accused are residing.
