The Olympic Games is a platform where every player wants a chance to show his sport. But never here we have seen the games that we used to play in our childhood. Like gilli danda, langdi run, khokho, kabaddi or many more sports. However, Chhattisgarh has now found a new way for this too. Efforts are on to give a new identity to art, culture and traditions in Chhattisgarh. In this sequence Chhattisgarhia Olympics is being organized. In this event, Chhattisgarhi sports will entertain the people a lot.
To encourage the traditional sports activities of Chhattisgarh in rural and urban areas, Chhattisgarhia Olympic Games is being organized for the first time from 6th October to 6th January. The preparations for these games are going on in full swing. State Chief Secretary Amitabh Jain told the departmental officers in the meeting that the places where organizing committees have not been formed. There, organizing committees should be formed at all levels before October 5.
Many local sports are included
The Chief Secretary said that Chhattisgarhia Olympic Games is being organized at Rajiv Yuva Mitan Club level from October 6, for this all necessary preparations should be completed. Sports competitions will be different for urban and rural areas. For this, the officials of the Urban Administration and Panchayat and Rural Development Department have been given the responsibility of organizing the games successfully. The Chief Secretary has given instructions to appoint nodal officers for all levels of competitions.
In the meeting, instructions were given to the officers to make arrangements for the security arrangements, training of referees and judges at each level on the basis of manual-guidelines and publicity for the organization of the games. Under the guidelines and action plan of Chhattisgarhia Olympics, sports competitions will be held in two categories. In this, party and single category have been determined according to the sports disciplines. The party category includes Chhattisgarhi sports disciplines such as Gilli Danda, Pithul, Sankhali, Langdi Run, Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Towing and Banti (Kancha). The singles category includes Billas, Fugdi, Gedi Run, Bhanwara, 100m Run and Long Jump.
From children to the elderly will participate in the games
Six levels have been prescribed for the Chhattisgarhi Olympic Games. According to this, firstly at the level of rural and urban areas, the games will be organized in the Rajiv Gandhi Yuva Mitan Club by knockout method. The second level is the zone which will have a club consisting of eight Rajiv Yuva Mitan clubs. At the third level, sports competitions will be organized at the development block and urban cluster level, district, division and finally at the state level. From children to the elderly will participate in the games. In this, the first category is up to the age of 18 years, the second is for the age group of 18 to 40 years and the third category is for the age group above 40 years. There will be participants in both men’s and women’s categories in these competitions.
