Davao City’s 14 villages are drug-free

DAVAO CITY: More villages here have been declared cleared from illegal drugs by the Regional Oversight Committee Barangay Drug Clearing (ROCBDC) 1 led by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).

On Monday, September 26, deliberation of the said committee, 14 villages in the city were added to the list of drug-cleared areas, PDEA 11 information officer Noli Dimaandal said.

As of the latest record, 81 villages in Davao City have already been drug-cleared out of a total of 182 villages.

These recent drug-cleared villages are 36-D; The Talomo River is located in the Calinan District of New Valencia, Tacunan, Tagakpan, and Talandang of Tugbok District.

During the deliberation process, members of the ROCBDC scrutinized all the documentary requirements.

Dimaandal said these villagers were able to satisfactorily comply with the required documents for Drug-Cleared Barangay set by the Dangerous Drugs Board Regulation 3-17 and PDEA Memorandum Circular 2020-0.

Also present during the deliberation were members of the Regional Barangay Drug Clearing Program Team, village officials, Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council, members of the 14 drug-cleared villages, and other stakeholders here.
