Cyclone Biparjoy:
Cyclone Biparjoy is getting dangerous. In such a situation, a high-level meeting was held on Monday to review the situation. Prime Minister Narendra Modi called a meeting to review the situation related to Cyclone Biparjoy.
An alert has been issued in many states including Gujarat regarding Cyclone Biparjoy. In view of such a situation, PM Narendra Modi chaired a review meeting, in which he discussed the status and monitoring of the cyclone with the officials.
PM Modi gave instructions
According to information received from the PMO, PM Modi directed senior officials to take all possible measures to ensure that people living in vulnerable places are safely evacuated by the state government and facilities like electricity, telecom, health, drinking water etc. Maintenance of all essential services should be ensured. He further directed for 24*7 functioning of the control rooms.

The Prime Minister was also briefed about the measures taken by the Gujarat government to deal with the cyclone. Review meetings have been held with the district administration at the Chief Minister’s level and the entire administrative machinery of the state is ready to deal with any emergency. Also, the Cabinet Secretary and the Home Secretary are in constant touch with the Chief Secretary of Gujarat and the concerned Central Ministries/agencies.
Prohibited from going to coastal areas
The India Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for the Saurashtra and Kutch coasts in view of the cyclonic storm. Due to the storm, high waves along with strong wind are visible in Valsad. High alert has also been issued in Mumbai. There is a complete ban on the movement of people around the coastal areas.

NDRF teams ready
On the other hand, NDRF said about Cyclone Biparjoy that as a precaution, we have deployed two teams in addition to the three teams already available in Mumbai. Apart from this, we have sent 4 other teams to Gujarat. Our teams are ready in Pune as well.
According to the latest update of the Meteorological Department, the cyclone will cross Saurashtra and Kutch on Wednesday. It will affect Pakistan as well and will reach near Mandvi and Karachi on Thursday and then it would have taken a severe form.
