What were the claims made regarding the Covin app…?
Several media reports claimed that India’s corona vaccination portal Covin allegedly leaked information on citizens’ Aadhaar cards, passports and PAN cards. Apart from this, the data of which city’s vaccine center the person got vaccinated from has also been leaked.
The report also claimed that all personal information entered by people on Covin is on the messaging platform Telegram. Many people have also shared its screenshots on Twitter.
It was claimed in the report that when you enter the mobile number registered with the Covin portal on the Telegram bot, you will also get to see the details of gender, date of birth, name of the vaccination center and ID card used for vaccination.
At the time of corona vaccination, many people had booked slots on the Covin app for multiple family members from the same number. Regarding this, it has been claimed in the report that if many people had registered with one mobile number, then the details of all of them would be visible on the Telegram bot.
