St. John’s (Antigua): Legendary West Indies cricketer Brian Lara will work with the team as a ‘Performance Mentor’ and will join the team in Zimbabwe ahead of the two-Test series.

Considered one of the greatest cricketers of all time, Lara scored more than 11,000 runs in Test cricket in his 16-year career between 1990 and 2006. His name also holds the record for making the highest score in Tests, which he made in 2004 by playing an innings of 400 not out against England.

Cricket West Indies announced Lara’s appointment on Thursday and said he will continue to be closely involved with the West Indies national teams and the National Cricket Academy. The West Indies team will play the first Test match against Zimbabwe in Bulawayo from February 4.
Lara said in a statement to Cricket West Indies, “I believe that I can help players on the mental aspect of the game and strategy so that they can be more successful.” ” (agency)
