Indian Army: A terrorist was killed in the second encounter in two days between terrorists and security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Tuesday. Police said, “One terrorist was killed. The operation is on.” Earlier, J&K Police in a tweet quoted Additional Director General of Police, Kashmir Zone as saying that two local terrorists of banned terrorist organization Jaish-e-Mohammed are trapped in the ongoing encounter in Ahwatu area of Kulgam. Both the trapped terrorists are involved in many terror crime cases.

A Pakistani terrorist of the terrorist organization Jaish-e-Mohammed was killed in an encounter between terrorists and security forces in the Batpora area of Kulgam on Monday. Tuesday’s shelling began after a joint team of police and security forces received an input about the presence of terrorists in that area. On this the terrorists hiding there started firing and the security forces retaliated. There has been a series of encounters between terrorists and security forces across Kashmir in recent days in which many terrorists have been eliminated.

Two days ago, there was an encounter between security forces and terrorists in Kupwara, Jammu and Kashmir. During this, two terrorists were killed by the security forces. The jawans have recovered two AK-47s, two pistols and four hand grenades from them. However, the identity of the slain terrorists is yet to be ascertained. The search operation is still going on in the area. This encounter between security forces and terrorists took place in LOC Tekri Nar of Machil area in Kupwara.
Three terrorists were arrested from Kupwara
Last month, three terrorists were arrested by security forces from Kupwara district of Kashmir. Incriminating documents and ammunition were recovered from the possession of the captured terrorists. Police had said that preliminary investigation has revealed that the trio were tasked to carry out attacks in the Handwara area of the district so as to disturb the peace along with the loss of lives and property of the common people.
