New Delhi: Asian Cricket Council (ACC) President Jay Shah made a statement a few days ago that the Indian team will not tour Pakistan next year for the ODI Asia Cup. At the same time, there is talk of organizing the Asia Cup 2023 next year at a neutral venue. After Jai Shah’s statement, Pakistan has got chilly. Many veteran players of Pakistan are advising to boycott India. So some are saying that Pakistan should also not go to India for the next 2023 World Cup.
Meanwhile, former fast bowler Wasim Akram has given a big statement. He said that Jay Shah should have talked to the Pakistan chairman before doing such a thing. The issue could have been resolved after holding a meeting.

Talking to the media, Wasim Akram said, ‘Cricket board has given a tremendous statement, India cannot dictate how Pakistan should play cricket. Cricket has also started in Pakistan after 10-15 years. I am a former sportsperson and sports person, I do not know what is happening on the political front. But talking to people is important. If you had to say Jai Shah Sahab, you would have at least called our President, arranging the Asian Council meeting. You give your views, it is discussed.
Wasim Akram further said that, ‘You cannot just stand and say that we will not go to Pakistan when the entire council has asked Pakistan to host the Asia Cup. So this is not a good thing.’
