    BCCI AGM 2022 | Roger Binny appointed 36th President of BCCI, replaces Sourav Ganguly

    New Delhi. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has got a new president. Yes, former India cricketer Roger Binny has been appointed as the new President of the new BCCI replacing Sourav Ganguly. Significantly, Roger has been a member of the 1983 Cricket World Cup winning team. This decision has been taken in the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of BCCI held today i.e. on Tuesday. Roger Binny was the President of Karnataka State Cricket Association in his recent tenure and will now step down from his position in the state body.

    Significantly, 67-year-old Roger Binny was the only candidate to file nomination for the post of BCCI President. At the same time, Jay Shah will continue to do his job as BCCI secretary. Arun Dhumal will vacate the post of Treasurer. Now Ashish Shelar has been given the responsibility of treasurer. Rajiv Shukla will be the vice-president while Devjit Saikia will now be the joint secretary. Outgoing treasurer Arun Dhumal will now be the new chairman of IPL.

    Be aware that the last date for filing nominations for the ICC top post is 20 October. At the same time, the ICC Board will meet in Melbourne on 11-13 November. However, Ganguly’s exit from the BCCI has caught the attention of many not only in sports but also in the political arena. Now it will be no less interesting to see whether the former captain is sent to the top post of the ICC Board or not.
