JEDDAH — A Bangladeshi woman gave birth to a baby girl on a Jeddah bound Saudi Arabian Airlines flight.
The 30-year-old woman gave birth on board flight (number 1546) after its departure from Tabuk airport. The flight attendants provided emergency assistance and care to the woman.
The King Abdulaziz International Airport Jeddah authorities said that as soon as they received information from the air traffic control tower that the female passenger had given birth on the plane, they had completed all the preparations for providing the necessary medical aid.
The emergency medical department of the airport was asked to take necessary precautions. The pilot was instructed to park the plane at the nearest gate to ensure immediate medical attention. A medical team, including qualified Saudi female paramedics, provided all the necessary emergency services to the woman and the newborn baby.
The medical team ensured that the health condition of the mother and the newborn baby was stable. Later, the woman and baby were taken to the King Abdullah Medical Complex in an ambulance.
