In the 2-match Test series against Bangladesh, Abhimanyu Easwaran can join the team in place of India’s regular captain Captain Rohit Sharma. It is noteworthy that Captain Rohit Sharma suffered a serious thumb injury while fielding in the second ODI of the series against Bangladesh played at Mirpur on Wednesday, December 7. Because of this, he is not expected to play in the Test series.
Significantly, the current captain of the India-A team, Abhimanyu Iswaran, is in excellent form at the moment. Easwaran recently scored 2 consecutive centuries against Bangladesh-A. Apart from this, Mukesh Kumar or Umran Malik can be fielded in this Test series instead of Mohammad Shami in the team. Also, Saurabh Kumar can also be included in place of Ravindra Jadeja.
