New Delhi: The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) will hold an emergency meeting on February 4 in Bahrain to discuss the venue of the 2023 Asia Cup following a request from Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Najam Sethi.
The PCB and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will be at loggerheads in Bahrain over their disagreement regarding the ACC calendar of events spearheaded by ACC president and Indian board secretary Jay Shah. Jay Shah announced the calendar of ACC on 5 January.

At the same time, now Nazam Sethi was quoted as saying by ESPNcricinfo, “There has been no ACC board meeting for a while and a lot of decisions were being taken and one of them we have challenged. Now the good news is that we managed to persuade him to have a board meeting and I am attending it.”
He said, “It is a big event that the ACC board will meet in Bahrain on February 4, in which issues related to the Asia Cup will be discussed. There is also an ICC meeting in March. I will not speak publicly on what I spoke to the ACC members in Dubai or what I am going to do in the upcoming meetings. India and Pakistan cricket relations are important.
Last year, Jay Shah had said that the Indian team would not travel to Pakistan for the Asia Cup and the tournament would be held at a neutral venue. The PCB had expressed its displeasure on this matter. Rameez Raja, then PCB chairman, had threatened to boycott the ODI World Cup to be held in India this year if this happened.
