New Delhi: Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi has given a big statement about the Pakistan team. Afridi feels that his team does not have a reliable player like Hardik Pandya, which the team needs, who can finish the match. Team India’s all-rounder Hardik Pandya is running in excellent form and he is seen in the role of finisher for Team India. He plays his role very well.
In the group match against Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2022, Hardik led the Indian team to victory due to his brilliant batting and bowling. Afridi while talking to Sama TV said that, experimenting with Asif Ali and Khushdil Shah in the role of finisher did not work. Afridi believes that if PAK is to become champions in the T20 World Cup 2022 starting in Australia next month, then it will have to improve both in batting and bowling and plug the gaps.

Shahid Afridi said, ‘We do not have a finisher like Pandya. We thought that Asif Ali and Khushdil Shah would fit in the role. But, this was not seen from their side. There was no continuity between Nawaz and Shadab. Out of these four players, at least two players need to perform consistently. The duration in which Shadab bowls is very important. The day their bowling is superb, that day Pakistan wins the match.
Shahid Afridi further said, ‘The kind of pitches we are playing on now, you need two specialist fast bowlers and one all-rounder. Why don’t we feed the new player Aamer Jamal has been picked up? Feed him as an all-rounder, get him to bowl and then tell him to bat. You will get to know what kind of cricketer he is. If Pakistan are dreaming of winning the World Cup then they need to work a lot on their bowling and batting and minimize their mistakes.
