    Youth dies due to drowning in Ganga while taking bath, 4 others missing

    Uttar Pradesh: A youth died and four others went missing after drowning while bathing in the river Ganga in Bilhaur area of ​​Kanpur. Expressing grief over the incident, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed the officials to expedite the relief and rescue work. Bilhaur Police Officer Rajesh Kumar gave this information on Wednesday.

    Went to bathe in the Ganges river

    He told that on Tuesday, Saurabh Singh (19) along with some people had gone to Bilhaur’s Kothi Ghat to take a bath in the Ganges river. He told that Saurabh was accompanied by Anushka alias Divya (15), his sister Anshika (12), Tanushka (17) and her sister Anushka (13), Srishti and Gauri. Srishti and Gauri refused to enter the river while the rest started bathing in the river.

    Couldn’t find out even after 24 hours passed

    He told that during this time Tanushka went into deep water and started drowning. Divya, Anushka, Anshika and Saurabh also drowned while trying to save him. Some divers present around the river tried to rescue the drowning people. During this, he took out Saurabh’s body, even after 24 hours passed after the accident, nothing could be known of him.

    Searching for SDRF

    Kumar said the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) has also been pressed into service to trace the missing. Taking cognizance of the accident, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed the district administration officials to conduct rescue and relief work.

    The accident happened in Sambhal in the past

    Recently, two brothers who had gone to the Ganga bath at Hari Baba Dham in Rajpura police station area of ​​Sambhal district of UP were trapped in deep water. Hearing the screams, people working in the nearby fields reached the spot and somehow saved one of the brothers. While the other could not be traced. On information, family members and divers also reached the spot. Late in the evening, Bablu’s body was found at some distance from there. The news of the death of a brother caused panic in the family and everyone was in a bad mood. Chandpal’s sons Bablu 13 and Akhilesh, residents of Molanpur Danda village of Rajpura, had gone to the police station area on Monday evening for a bath on the Ganges near Hari Baba Dam.
