To stop the spread of cancer in the body requires a strong attack of the immune system, but now the cells of this disease have found a way to protect themselves, which has surprised scientists.

In a recent research, experts have found that some cancer cells are hidden inside other large cancer cells, so that they cannot be destroyed by T cells (immunity). Actually, the researchers were working on a special type of cancer therapy during the study. It kills proteins that block the attack of T cells on the tumor and is used in melanoma, colon cancer and lung cancer. But the scientists were shocked when the lump began to re-emerge after being destroyed by the T cells.

May open the way to improve treatment
When the researchers investigated it in human cells, more or less the same situation was found in them too. However, this was not the case with blood cancers and glioblastomas, and their cells did not form large structures. Looking at the results of the research, some other experts have said that this discovery could open the way for more improvements in the treatment of patients.

Cancer can hide itself for months
Tel Aviv University assistant professor Yaron Karmi, who is researching melanoma and breast cancer in mice, and his doctoral student Amit Gutwilling, observed in the laboratory that some giant cells survived attacks from T cells. Upon closer investigation, it was revealed that they had hidden small cancer cells inside themselves so that they were able to evade immunity.

According to Dr. Karmi, the view of these cells was like seeing a devil, who was trying to protect himself from cunning. They say that in this way cancer can hide itself for weeks and months.
