A woman attempted suicide in Patna on Sunday. Fed up with her husband’s harassment, the woman jumped off the Gandhi Setu bridge. At the same time, the SDRF team present on the spot rescued the woman and took her out safely. The case pertains to the Gandhi Setu bridge under Alamganj police station area of the district.
According to SDRF worker Ashok Yadav, the woman has been identified as 40-year-old Sona Devi, a resident of Chitkohra Damaria of Gardanibagh police station.
At the same time, during interrogation, Sona Devi told that her husband Nand Kishore Chaudhary works as peon in the Secretariat. He used to torture her continuously. He has two sons. Nand Kishore used to fight in front of them. In such a situation, he got upset and jumped from Gandhi Setu to commit suicide on Sunday.
Handed over to Alamganj police station
On the other hand, the SDRF team has handed over the woman to Alamganj police station. So that the relatives can be handed over. At the same time, the police of Alamganj police station have informed the relatives about the incident. Where after questioning the woman’s husband, the police got involved in further action.
