    A 70-year-old woman was thrashed with a hot rod in Munger on the allegation of a witch. The incident happened on Friday evening. The nephew of the injured woman alleges that the neighbor called her home and beat her up. The injured have been identified as the resident of Kulharia village of Haveli Kharagpur police station area. The 70-year-old wife of Hopan Besra took the form of Makku Devi. It is alleged that the neighbors Prakash Soren, Deva Soren and Demda Soren called them as witches and brutally beat them up with hot rods.

    After the incident, the family members admitted the injured Makku Devi to Kharagpur Community Health Center. Where the doctors after doing first aid, in view of the serious condition of the woman, she has been referred to Munger Sadar Hospital. Late in the night, the woman was brought to the Sadar Hospital by ambulance. Where the treatment of the woman is going on in a serious condition.

    Jaundice was called to bring the dead to life
    In connection with the incident, Paru Soren, nephew of the injured woman Makku Devi, said that someone had died of jaundice at Demda Soren’s house in the neighborhood. They called his aunt to their house and asked him to bring the dead person to life. But how would my aunt keep him alive because the man had died due to jaundice. Despite this, they started torturing my aunt to bring her alive by calling her a witch. They stained my aunt’s whole body with hot rods. My aunt was seriously injured by this.

    The doctor treating at the same hospital told that the condition of the woman is very critical. Therefore, he has been referred to Munger for better treatment by giving him first aid. In this regard, Shampur assistant station in-charge Om Prakash Dubey said that I have not yet received information about this. By the way, the police will investigate at their level and action will be taken on receipt of the application.
