Who is the next DGP of Bihar: Shobha-Alok-Bhatthi’s name on top; Bihar government sent the name of 11DG rank IPS to the Center

The search for a new captain for the Bihar Police has begun. Who will be the next DGP of Bihar? The government is continuously brainstorming on this. Actually, the tenure of the current DGP SK Singhal is ending on 19th December. Anyway, DGP SK Singhal had retired only last year. He was serving a further term on extension.

Now that extension is also ending on 19 December. Bihar government needs a new DGP. The exercise has started regarding this. If sources are to be believed, the Bihar government has sent the names of 11 senior officers to the central government. Now out of these 11 names, the central government will finalize three names and send them.

The list of 11 DG rank officers of Bihar cadre has been sent to the Central Government. These include Shobha Ahotkar(1990), Alok Raj(1989), Rajwinder Singh Bhatti(1990), Manmohan Singh(1988), Vinay Kumar(1991), Preeta Verma(1992), Sheel Vardhan Singh(1986), AK Ambedkar(1992) ), Seema Rajan(1987), Pravin Vasistha(1991), Arvind Pandey(1988). All are DG rank officers. The batch of all the officers is between 1986 to 1992.

The DGP of Bihar Police should have a minimum tenure of 2 years. All the officers will retire between 2023 and 2026. In this, Preeta Verma will retire in 2028. In this context, all officers are suitable for DGP. If the tenure is less then the state government increases it.

Shobha Ahotkar at the forefront

Out of these 11 officers, the central government has to select 3 top officers and send them to the state government. The state government gives the responsibility of the post of DGP to any one of those three officers. Shobha Ahotkar’s name is running at the top of this list. Alok Raj’s name is on the second number. Same, RS Bhatti and Manmohan Singh are at number three and fourth. The state government will have to decide whether to make one of these four officers the police captain.

Shobha Ahotkar is a disciplined officer

Regarding Shobha Ahotkar, it is believed that her policing is very strict. Discipline is dear officer. She has earned a lot of name as a woman officer. He is feared among criminals. In such a situation, Shobha Ahotkar is being considered most suitable for this post considering the deteriorating law and order situation in recent times.

Six officers are on central deputation

At the same time, Alok Raj has been a bright officer of Bihar cadre. Their policing has been quite different. He believed more in solving matters. In such a situation, he can also be a favorite of Nitish Kumar. The policing of RS Bhatti and Manmohan Singh has also been dominant in their times.

Of the 11 officers, six are on central deputation. If sources are to be believed, Vinay Kumar and Arvind Pandey have recommended to the state government not to become DGPs. On the other hand, RS Bhatti also does not want to return to Bihar. In such a situation, the Bihar government will have to decide in a few days whom it listens to as the police captain for Bihar.
